Furtureintech

Fostering young New Zealanders' interest in careers in engineering, technology and science is the aim of the IPENZ Futureintech programme.  The NZ Trade and Enterprise-funded initiative involves young technology, engineering and science professionals working with local schools by giving presentations on their work, helping with projects and demonstrating practical applications on the curriculum.

It's about getting alongside kids, mainly at a classrom and project level, and encouraging them to think about science and technology careers so they can make the right study choices.  With the range of ambassadors involved, the students and teachers get first-hand knowledge of the multitude of careers available and the many study pathways to those careers.

Traffic Design Group has been a partner company since Futureintech's beginnings in 2003, and has five of its staff involved as ambassadors in the programme nationally.  In their roles, each is an enthusiastic support of inspiring the next generation of engineers.
