Mark Apeldoorn new IPENZ TG Chairman

After many years of service to both the regional and national committees of the IPENZ Transportation Group, we are now pleased to announce that Mark Apeldoorn (TDG Director, Hamilton/Tauranga) has been elected as Chairman of the National Management Committee of the Group.

Most recently, Mark has served the IPENZ Transportation Group as Chairman of the Waikato/BOP Branch since 2009 and previously in many roles including as National Administrator of the Group’s National Management Committee for a three year tenure during the late 1990’s. He has been active on behalf of the wider IPENZ organisation representing all professional engineers in New Zealand being the IPENZ representative on the recent review and updating of the NZS4404.2010 Land Development and Subdivision. He is a Director of the NZ Trips Database Bureau and is IPENZ’s appointed representative to the Hamilton City Urban Design Panel. 

In this Chairman’s role, Mark is intending to guide the Group’s 1000+ members into the next decade of transportation challenges, representing the voice of the transport profession on the national stage and to help provide direction for the next generation of transport professionals.
