LinSig

LinSig is a comprehensive modelling package for optimising signalised intersections. The software is used to assess different designs and methods of operation for stand-alone intersections, corridors and/or networks.

The currently available version of LinSig, Version 3, was released in June 2009. Version 3 greatly extends LinSig's existing network modelling capabilities allowing larger networks and tools to improve modelling efficiency. The software is based on providing cycle time and phase split optimisation for user-defined intersection configurations.

Much more than just an intersection or network modelling package, LinSig can also be used to optimise signalised roundabouts and signalised pedestrian crossings as well as many other complex network configurations.

LinSig has been available in a number of versions since 1985, and is the original software package for UK detailed traffic signal design.  The software is used by the majority of UK highway authorities and consultants and is gathering momentum in Australasia.

TDG became the first overseas agency for Linsig in 2009 and are responsible for the provision and distribution of training and software throughout New Zealand.
